Happy Birthday

Our daughters 3rd Brithday was a good opportunity to put my new "Big Shot" to the test and I was not disappointed.

Nor was she recognising that mummy made her card. Her favourite colour is purple. This card features, Pale Plum (retired), Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Certainly Celery.

Despite our move I managed to get a couple of Christmas Card Designs completed. Both were relatively easy to complete. Using Kiwi Kiss, Red Riding Hood and Whisper White.

Blog... what Blog

This is one sadly neglected blog.

Having welcomed a darling little boy into our family in the second half of last year and then packed up and moved from NQ back to Brisbane, there was little time for the blog.

As I prepare to hold my first workshop since returning to Brisbane I have decided time to reinvigorate my blog.

Stay tuned!

Many Thanks Class

In February I held my first class for 2010..... Many Thanks. I ran this class again last weekend for those that were unable to attend the original class.

Each participant made 8 cards, 2 of each of the 4 designs. Each of the cards is very versatile and can easily be adapted to suit, other situations ie. Birthday, Best Wishes, Thinking of you, and some would suit with Sympathy etc. Infact you could make any or all of these cards ahead of time and just add the appropriate greeting as needed.

I was also determined to design one card that was suitably masculine. I know we can all easily design feminine, soft and pretty cards however we often struggle with cards for men. So without making it too difficult I wanted one card that would fit this bill whilst still using embellishments. The Curly Label thank you card uses Old Olive base, Very Vanilla overlay, a piece of Close to Coco as well as Close to Coco and Old Olive Ink. Finishing off with Old Olive Ribbon and two pieces of Hodge Podge. This card was a hit with all.

For the 2nd class I didn't realise until the last minute that I had forgotten to order the Pretty in Pink card stock and had to come up with a suitable replacement for the So Swirly Card. I have used Certainly Celery & Pretty in Pink along with the Pixie Pink Stampin Write Marker from the Bold Brights set.
